"The New Cosmopolitan. The Absolute Importance of Harmony"
In the framework of the 50th anniversary of the Erasmus Prize, Felix Meritis and the Praemium Erasmianum Foundation have invited young Europeans from The People Network to write an essay on the subject of cosmopolitism and citizenship. The authors of ten essays have been selected and will be invited to participate in a special debate organized on 6 November. Subject of the debate is the meaning of cosmopolitanism and the question of what it takes to be a good citizen of the world. Former Erasmus Prize laureates Claudio Magris, Adam Michnik, Pierre Bernard, Péter Forgács, Sadik Al-Azm and Eduard Nazarsky (Amnesty International), as well as this years' laureate Ian Buruma have confirmed their presence.

"Die Leidenschaft und die Krankheit der Sprache"
Dieses Essay habe ich für die ErsteBank Gruppe in Österreich während meines Aufenthaltes im Unabhängigen Literaturhaus Krems geschrieben. Ich musste mich auf eine bestimmte Zahl von Wörtern beschränken, was bei einem Thema wie "der Sprache" ganz schwierig ist. Allein darüber könnte man gleich ein Buch schreiben...
